Well That Sucked

There isn't much I can say about Sunday's race. I would love to talk about the "big one." Not the first big one, but the last big one. Where Carl ended up flying into a chain link fence almost killing many of his adoring fans. How Keselowski miraculously won his first Sprint Cup race at Talladega. See I'd like to talk about all these events but I was unable to watch the end of the race due to my piece of shit Pinnacle PCTV card.

You see I view TV with my trusty Pinnacle PCTV tuner. Except the thing never works. It has been a nuisance since the very beginning and, I hate to do this on a NASCAR blog, but Pinnacle is a worthless company. It's no wonder Final Cut Pro is digging into Avid's market, and why their converters for media always leave people screaming. Their products are crap and everyone knows this to be true. The sad thing is, what else can I use.

I turn to the internet. I'm not going to pay for the Track Pass, but what I would like is a rogue programmer to come along and figure out a better way for computers to receive digital television signals. Let open source solve all of our problems.

Enough of my rant. My opinion of NASCAR's safety can be simply put by what Carl Edwards said, "Well keep racing like this until someone dies." You can view a clip of his interview on Larry King here. And a hats off to Keselowski for putting quiet simply that he was just obeying the rules and was not going to go below the double yellow. He was very poised and spoke honestly. I respect that and have no problem with Keselowski.

And now onto Richmond. My picks? It's been a bit hard to pick winners this year, mainly due, I think, to the COT. But my guess is as good as yours.

Winner: Jimmy Johnson (He's itching for another win and he's definitely got the know how at this track. Johnson relies heavily on gaining knowledge of the track and allowing Chad Knaus to put him in the spot to win.)

Wild Card: Dale Jr. (I don't like him and he probably doesn't like me, but he's been showing strong and he's got a couple of wins here in the past. I think if he plays his cards right he has a shot at Richmond.)

And as a side note, Mike Ford needs to motivate Denny Hamlin. I think he has no desire or drive to win these days. He's having a great year but get a win. Something that every winner has shown is that they earned their wins this year. Denny just doesn't seem to want it bad enough.
