Daytona 500

It's been a crazy week in the world of NASCAR. Dale Jr. won the pole - and wrecked. The two-choo train has taken over Daytona. They've changed the cars more in this week than in most years.

IS it possible to pick a winner of the Daytona 500? Absolutely not. But I'll try - how about that number 24. Jeff is due, and he's won it before.

Good luck to everyone and here's to a great season.

Bud Shootout Prerace

Here it is...

While cars have been on the track since Friday, tonight is the firs time it matters. The NASCAR pre-season is exactly 1 race. One race that pays over two-hundred thousand dollars to the winner.

In 40 weeks and 1 day, we'll be crowning the 63rd champion in the prestigious NASCAR Sprint Cup series.

Tonight, twenty-four of the best drivers in the world will compete on the freshly paved world center of racing. And I'm excited - very excited.

Pick a winner for this race? Like playing roulette. I'll say that against my better judgement, I'm going to pick Dale Earnhardt JR. New crew chief - new attitude (maybe).

Tune in tonight at 8pm on Fox. It will be worth it.

The Declaration of Independence

So...

Like almost every over American this evening, I'm watching the super bowl pre-game. And, as Fox does every 3 years, they read the Declaration of Independence prior to the game.

Obviously, the only thing more American than Football, occurred directly after the extremely hallow reading, a commercial for the Great American Race.

I'll I want to say is this - America kicks ass. So does NASCAR. I know it's easy to say that the sport has fell off in resent years - but be certain - there is nothing like the 500.
